Valentines update:
Unfortunately due to covid we will be unable to have students bring in Valentines or gifts.
Apologies for the confusing blog/parent message. I sent out the notification before knowing we were unable to bring stuff in!
Next Wednesday we will make cards for our family members!
Reading...Give it a Shot
BHS has enrolled in the Calgary Flames reading program. Students will be bringing home tracking sheets to monitor how much they read each day. Can you please sign the spot needed if they are reading at home?
When your child reads 30 minutes they will earn one reading card. I have sent home a green folder with the sheet to track your minutes! Once they collect all 24, they can move onto the bonus card collection of Harvey the Hound doing funny things! The reading competition started Monday, January 18th and ends March 26th. Teachers will be tracking totals in order to hopefully win a virtual visit from the Calgary Flames. The more they read… the more chance we have of the Calgary Flames visiting our school virtually!

Happy happy Friday everyone!
It was a long week with some cold days but we made it!
Today we began our day with 6/7 of our reading groups doing reading to self on razkids while I worked with one group.
We then did a quick morning meeting before having Netflix Friday. We enjoyed some more of the lego movie while crunching our snacks for 10 minutes.
Students began presenting their magnet projects yesterday afternoon and we finished the rest this morning. I marked the students on their speaking ability, magnet understandings, and overall quality of their projects. It was a great opportunity for students to practice their public speaking and show off their hard work!
After gym in class doing go noodle and just dance we moved into math.
Math today had us working on Mathletics. I had students specifically working on their subtraction assignments as this will be our unit for the next few weeks!
