A note from Mr Sadowsky:
-Unless it is below zero or pouring rain, teacher led classes will be outside for the remainder of the year, including light snow. Classes with me will be outside beginning in May for the remainder of the year. With the Covid numbers going up and the new variants, it is much safer to have classes spread out outside and the class in the gym having the entire gym to also be able to spread out more. A large number of schools have been outside all year due to Covid concerns and this is for the safety of our students and staff.
This week in room 5:
Today we began our day with some time to listen to reading. We used the ipads and read Razkids at our desks.
We then moved into a morning meeting and had a discussion about a change to our schedule. I am going to be adding a math and reading block to the afternoon and I let the students vote on whether they would like the reading or math block right after lunch or at the end of the day. This gave the the students some choice in their learning and from now on we will have math centers/games after lunch and reading to someone/listening to reading at the end of the day.
Students then had about 30 minutes to finish their Spring break writing! I will be making some new folders to help the students organize their writing materials better for each day.
We then had snack before doing a large desk clean!
The students finished their morning with 30 minutes of gym outside.
We then had a sharing circle talking about what zone we were in and our favourite part of the week.
