A note from Mr Sadowsky:

-Unless it is below zero or pouring rain, teacher led classes will be outside for the remainder of the year, including light snow. Classes with me will be outside beginning in May for the remainder of the year. With the Covid numbers going up and the new variants, it is much safer to have classes spread out outside and the class in the gym having the entire gym to also be able to spread out more. A  large number of schools have been outside all year due to Covid concerns and this is for the safety of our students and staff.

Today we began our day with some reading and catch up time to finish our "What I notice about the Maritimes" research pages.

The students then went off to gym with Mr Sadowsky to compete in the Beddington Olympics!

After our morning meeting and snack we moved into some writing. Today the students continued to work on their What I did over my spring break writing. Tomorrow will be the last day to work on them before I look into them.

After recess on the compound we moved into some mathletics on Ipads. I have assigned several things for students to complete. Try and get some done at home :)

In the afternoon we had read to someone before moving into science.

Today we started our new science unit: Liquids! I gave the students some time to record anything they KNOW about liquids. Students had several ideas about:

-There are many types of liquids (coke, water, coconut water, juice, tea)

-Humans are 70% water

-Liquids can change into ice and water

-Water makes up clouds

They also had several questions about liquids!

-What is a liquid?

-How many different liquids are there?

-How are different liquids made?

-How does water become steam?

To wrap up our science block we watched Bill Nye: Fluids! The students loved getting a preview of several concepts we will be learning about this unit.

We finished our day by cleaning the room before heading home :)

Have a great day everyone!

Mr Lancee
