Today in room 5:

Today was Earth Day! We talked as a class about what Earth Day means to us. We also read two books to learn about how we can help the earth!

We began our day with some quiet reading before our morning meeting. 

We then got hard to work in science going through the water cycle from the previous day! Yesterday the students watched the Magic school bus gets wet before cutting before cutting and glueing their own water cycles. Today we gave definitions to the four steps:

Evaporation

Condensation

Precipitation

Collection

before it repeats again!

We then moved into math and did some addition to 100 review! We reviewed the hundreds chart, columns and regrouping strategies before trying some questions.

In the afternoon we used a catch up block to finish our water cycles before heading to the gym. In gym we took a break from kickball and played various tag games.

We finished off our afternoon by watching an episode from Our Planet. (I skipped over the one sad part!) Watching this helped the students with seeing how beautiful the earth and its creatures are. It is up to us to keep the earth clean for future generations!
